Winter 2008 - 2009

It is heartwarming to see that with the help of the Friends and the many of you who join in with your support and presence, we have a healthy balance of circa £21,000 at the bank. This funding means that we can continue to support repairs and maintenance to our ancient church. This focus and effort together with events such as our Coffee Morning on the first Wednesday in each month and monthly lunch club help give a palpable sense of community to us.

Past Events

Carol singing at Beckley was much enjoyed by those who took part. The response to our two evening event allowed us to sing to many more households. The final stop at the Rose and Crown produced requests for repeat numbers with additional voices a fitting end to that evening. The collection over the two days added £300 to our funds. We hope to make this years carol singing cover as much again. Dates projected for this event are Friday 18th and Monday 21st December, to be confirmed later.

Forthcoming Events during 2009

Saturday, 24th Jan Quiz Night, 7 for 7.30pm Entry fee £9.00. We have ten tables available in the Parish Hall for this fun event. Teams of which you may well be a part will battle for that 1st place (terminal accolade) all under the eye of our Chairman backed up by strict control of our invigilator Nigel Pearson. Nigel's graphics as scores mount will help to maintain the competitive spirit. Half time will provide the legendary Bangers and Mash coupled with liquid refreshment from the bar as an aid to revitalising the depleted grey cells for the second assault on cerebration. A grand raffle will run concurrently, tickets available at the door and later.
